11:00 / 11AM US Eastern Time Hour Three Check In

I am excited to participate in the 2015 Read-A-Thon!! It officially started THREE HOURS AGO at 8am US Eastern Time! This is my first check in, and I’ll just be updating this same post as I go. Alright, so the first two hours … I slept. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Just before 10:00 I went and got myself a latte from Starbucks, just on the corner from where I live. Hour three was spent drinking my yummy latte and reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I started on page 372 and ended on page 417, of 470, so I am almost there. I have been working on this book all week and I told myself it would be first on my list for today, so I can get it out of the way! It’s a great book and I will be posting a review here in the next couple weeks! Ok, back to reading … Here is my update:

  • Books Read since last update: N/A
  • Pages Read Since last update: N/A
  • Food consumed since last update: Starbucks: Venti Soy Extra Foam W/ Whip Mocha
  • Total Pages Read: 45

17:00 / 5PM US Eastern Time Hour Nine Check-in

Alright so I had to run a few errands that I could no longer put off and walk the dog (who thinks this read-a-thon is BORING and would much rather be playing ball) so I didn’t read as much as I wanted to. I did finish a book though! Before I Fall was good, but I was bit unsatisfied at then end. I wanted more .. of everything; for her to live more, love more, party harder, leave a bigger wave… but I will post an official review with more detail once the Read-A-Thon is over! So next I picked back up Rebel Belle, which I am also currently in the middle of (if you know me, I’m always reading 2-3+ books at once). So I’m listening to the audiobook, but I’ve listened to approximately 100 pages of the book, if I did the math correctly. I plan to listen to a bit more of this, perhaps pick up The Death Cure by James Dashner next… Here’s my current update:

  • Books Read since last update: 2 (1 completed)
  • Pages Read Since last update: 153
  • Food consumed since last update: Oriental Chicken Salad from Applebee’s & another Starbucks latte
  • Total Pages Read: 198
  • Books Started: Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins (audiobook)(continued, not started)
  • Books Finished:  Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
  • Location: Recliner in living room & passenger seat in Stephen’s car
  • Current Mini Challenges: Plan A Bookish Party

22:00 / 10PM US Eastern Time Hour Fourteen Check-In

I listened to Rebel Belle for quite a while and then got tired of listening to someone talk (I usually exclusively listen to audiobooks in the car during my commutes to & from work) so I just took a break for a while before I picked up another book. Eventually, I picked up the third book in James Dashner’s The Maze Runner series, The Death Cure. I read book one and two, which are pretty good, keeps you wondering what will happen next, but the lack of answers/information really bothered me – until this book! Everything is being explained. Or we think so… Anyways .. here is my update!

  • Books Read since last update: Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins and The Death Cure by James Dashner
  • Pages Read Since last update:  172
  • Food consumed since last update: PB&J, bag of popcorn
  • Total Pages Read: 370
  • Books Started: The Death Cure by James Dashner
  • Books Finished: none
  • Location: Living room
  • Current Mini Challenges: Music Is Muse

02:00 / 2AM US Eastern Time Hour Eighteen Check In

I just wrote my last update, aand somehow it was deleted. I am not excited to have to rewrite it! Ok so, basically I said that today has really shown me the extent of my attention span! And for those of you who are still reading and have been consistently reading, I am so very proud of you, and impressed! I suppose I didn’t do too bad, this being my first ever Read-A-Thon, and a long one at that! I am excited to participate in the next one. I think I’ll use today’s results to set my goals for the next one. Aim to read 20% more, perhaps. Alright, it is 2am and I finished my book, and I just do not have the energy to pick up a brand new book here at 2am. So, bravo to all the participants out there!!! Thank you  to those who commeted and encouraged me on Goodreads, and thank you for following along with me here. Here is my last update:

  • Books Read since last update: Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins and The Death Cure by James Dashner
  • Pages Read Since last update: 274
  • Food consumed since last update: Goldfish crackers
  • Total Pages Read: 644
