A super quick read which a lot of you may have heard of – Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen was one of my book club’s May 2015 book choices; I did not previously own this book, and I bought it off Amazon for about $11 including shipping. This popular story is probably best known for the movie adaption which features Anjelina Jolie, Winona Ryder, Brittany Murphy, Whoopi Goldberg, and more well known actors.

Personally, I enjoyed this book. I am interested in this story of psych story and enjoyed similar books such as The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. A lot of reviews describe this book (and movie) as disturbing, and while it has scenes that are not pleasant, I did not find it overly disturbing nor did it linger with me after I read it. I am looking forward to watching the movie – I heard the “disturbing”-ness is pumped up in the movie.

Like I said I read this as a book club May choice, and we discussed and tracked on Goodreads.com so I have posted my progress updates below and you can read my Goodreads review here.
