#RockYourHandwriting Challenge: April 2016

Welcome to April everyone! I don’t believe it either. But I’m REALLY excited to share this new daily challenge I found on Instagram last month. It is on it’s third go-round, and is hosted by these four lovely ladies: Jessica @ PrettyPrintsAndPaper Kara @ BohoBerry Kim @ TinyRayOfSunshine Dee @ DecadeThirty They have recently become my inspiration for my handwriting journey. I relate most to Jessica’s style; she likes the fonts, color schemes, and decor that I like. My handwriting is closest to Kara’s; a beautiful script, that I try to work against (natural slant to…

*sneak peak* DIY: Chalkboard Canvas Painting COMING SOON!

Mother’s Day is fast approaching.. It is May 10th this year, and I have the privilege to spend that weekend with my Mother and Grandmother. My Mom saw the below quote on Facebook not long ago and it has been her favorite lately, so I am recreating it for her on a 16×20 inch canvas. I will be putting the full tutorial up soon, but for now here is a sneak peak!! Oh and that is my Chihuahua, Ivy ❤️ she is always “helping.” Living, He loved meDying, He…

Envelope Budget Technique

I began using the envelope budget technique two weeks ago, and so far so good. The main guidelines in using this system is to put cash in the envelopes based on your budget, and only use the cash in the envelopes. It’s great for visual people, and fun for crafty people. For example, (I know it makes me sound like a diva, but…) I budget $50 every two weeks for my coffee/lattes. So, every two weeks I get paid so each payday I take a trip to the ATM and…

DIY: Boot Cuffs & Wrist Warmers

Each year I make a few hand made gifts. During the past year and half-ish, I taught myself how to crochet from blogs and YouTube videos, so my featured Christmas gift this year was crocheted Boot Cuffs and Wrist Warmers! I found this pattern from Crochet Dreamz, who calls them “Brooklyn Boot Cuffs & Wrist Warmers.” You can view her blog and amazing talents HERE. I also made a few scarfs for Christmas gifts for family members, and I will write posts on those all well and post them on…

DIY: Painted Canvas

I got the inspiration for this from a piece of art I saw for sale in an Etsy store (the photo’s click through link will take you to it, if you are interested). I used a linen canvas, acrylic paints, and cheap foam paint brushes. I used the straight edge of an envelope to help me draw the straight edges of the anchor, and a round wire coil to guide the circular top part of the anchor, otherwise I free-handed everything. I didn’t plan to use guides, but saw convenience…

DIY: Product Organizer

I recently received the Wei East Skin Care line and have been thoroughly enjoying each product!! Since I have been a very good girl and have been washing my face every morning and every night, I decided I needed a convenient storage place for my morning and evening skin care routine. I already had this basket, and this piece of linen that I lined it with. I then cut up a shoebox for the dividers, and cut slits half way up so that I could interlock the dividers to make…

DIY: Gift Bows

I know its crazy, but, I am starting to think of what to get people for Christmas already! And it’s only September! I’ve even created a secret board on Pinterest to start brainstorming. 🙂 This made me remember a cute DIY that I came up with last year (as you can see the image displays my old Tumblr blog url) when I ran out of bows for my gifts, and figured I’d share it with you well ahead of time so you can practice. 😉 Great for any holiday! Make…
