Manicure Monday: Jamberry Challenge

It is odd that St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are a week apart this year, so this past week I wore some wraps that I thought complimented both holidays! I also thought it would be a fun idea to take a picture everyday for five days to see how the wraps hold up, or don’t 😉 I have the results for you!!!

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Imported Bubbly

Essie’s Imported Bubbly is one of my “go to” polishes. You won’t be surprised to hear that I began this look with Sally Hansen’s Hard As Wraps and finished it with Seche Vite’s Top Coat. Imported Bubbly with everything and is a nice shiny nude, not too gold, not too pink, but just right in the middle. In the photos, you can see one was taken in direct sunlight and one was taken inside, in indirect sunlight. The only (minor) downside to this polish is that its really hard not…

Mani Monday: Essie’s Take It Outside (Fall 2014 Collection: Dress to Kilt) 2 of 6

Essie.com describes this color as a “punchy, fresh taupe with a whisper of pink.” Other bloggers describe this color as taupe, beige, tan, and neutral. I describe this color as grey. Regardless of who you ask, they will tell you that this formula is wonderful & smooth, and although a bit thick, applies very nicely. I used two coats & then topped it off with Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat. I have to say, this is my new go-to grey color. I do not see any hints of pink,…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s The Perfect Cover Up (Fall 2014 Collection: Dress to Kilt) 1 of 6

This is the first post of Essie’s Fall 2014 Collection! This collection consists of 6 great fall shades. I will introduce this collection to you by starting off with The Perfect Cover Up – a beautiful deep dark blue-ish. It is actually categorized under “greens” on essie’e website, and they describe it as “gray,” but, as you can see in the pictures above, its a blue-grey, and is more blue in certain brighter lights (you can tell in that one picture above). While I had this polish on, a few…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Haute In The Heat (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 4 of 6

Ok, I will admit, red is my least favorite nail color, but I can’t tell you why. I don’t know if its too bold for me or what, but, I just feel like I’m trying to be the vixon-I-am-not when I have red on my nails. Essie’s Haute In The Heat, however, is my new favorite red nail polish! I say “new” not because I had a previous favorite red shade, but because I did not have a favorite red shade at all, I had pretty much written off reds…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Urban Jungle (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 3 of 6

Yay! If you know me, you know I llloooooovvveeee my nude shades. As much as I love nudes, they can begin to all look the same after a while. If you need to break up nude monotony, Urban Jungle is a great shade!! Its not pink at all, it’s like this beige-y, really light tan color. Opaque & self leveling – requires two coats but you could get away with a shear-er look with one coat if your a steady handed polisher, but, in my personal preference I always…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Ruffles & Feathers (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 2 of 6

Another shade in Essie’s 2014 Summer Collection. I was initially worried about this color, because green is out of my comfort zone when it comes to nail polish, but from what I could see and what I read online, Ruffles & Feathers is a more smooth teal green crème. What I experienced was an opaque, peacock emerald that was a self-leveling one coat wonder (#OCW)!!!! You know how I excited I get when I come across a OCW XD. It was super duper smooth and is very pigmented. I found…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Strut Your Stuff (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 1 of 6

Essie’s Strut Your Stuff is one of the six polishes in Essie’s Summer 2014 Collection called Haute In The Heat. It’s a beautiful bright blue creme that is in the middle of the blue color category – most blues you find will be either darker, lighter, or duller than this. It reminds me of Essie’s Hide And Go Chic and Essie’s I’m Addicted – perhaps right in the middle of those two. I used CND’s Sticky Base Coat, two coats of Strut Your Stuff, and ended with Seche Vite’s Top…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Bahama Mama

Happy Labor Day! I’m so excited to have a paid day off on Monday, and to enjoy this long weekend! The weather has been beautiful and we’re trying to take full advantage of it before it starts to turn cooler. I recently picked up Essie’s Bahama Mama from my local CVS. I really love Essie’s Big Spender, and this is in the same plum color family. I’ve been googling it to see if it’s part of a set, but, so far I have only found it on its own. I…

REVIEW: Orly’s Beach Cruiser

The perfect summer color. If you need an instant tan glow, just put this on your nails!! Although I prefer this color on my toes, I still love love love it on my hands too. Top with Seche Vite Top Coat for an intense shine & a long lasting manicure. A special thanks to my bestie, Jackie, who let me borrow her bottle of Beach Cruiser on Easter Sunday, and let me join her family in celebration that day! We had fun doing our nails together at Jackie’s mom’s house,…
