MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Imported Bubbly

Essie’s Imported Bubbly is one of my “go to” polishes. You won’t be surprised to hear that I began this look with Sally Hansen’s Hard As Wraps and finished it with Seche Vite’s Top Coat. Imported Bubbly with everything and is a nice shiny nude, not too gold, not too pink, but just right in the middle. In the photos, you can see one was taken in direct sunlight and one was taken inside, in indirect sunlight. The only (minor) downside to this polish is that its really hard not…

Manicure Monday: Jamberry + Essie

Jamberry and Essie go great together. When I use Jamberry wraps on just accent fingers it makes my wraps last longer also. Today I have three fingers wrapped with Jamberry’s Mint Green Chevron wraps and two fingers with three coats of Essie’s Turquoise & Caicos. I used alcohol and a bonding agent under my jamberry wraps but nothing on top. Under the Essie I have Nailtiques Formula 2 and Essie Gel Setter on top. I hope you like it!! Manicure Monday: Essie’s Resort Fling

Happy Monday! It’s time to do it all over again this week, if you are like me and work a 9am-5pm Monday through Friday schedule. Last night I was feeling really summery, so I chose Essie’s Resort Fling, which is an orange peach sherbert color. It always manages to come out looking more orange in pictures than it really is, but don’t me wrong, it’s definitely orange, just not as … orange. LOL. Very descriptive, great job, Danielle. It is just a much softer orange in person, more sherbert-y, if…

Manicure Monday: French Manicure

The French Manicure is my favorite manicure. I think it looks super classy and clean, and looks good on everyone! Luckily, I have done a french manicure on myself so many times that I’ve perfected my method, even using my left hand to paint my right (I’m a righty)! The below french manicure is what I’m wearing this week, and I used Essie’s Blanc, Essie’s Sugar Daddy, CND Stickey Base Coat, and Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat. Sugar Daddy is such a light nude color, you can barely see it. I prefer…

Manicure Monday: Essie’s Sunday Funday & Bikini So Teeny

I got this inspiration from a fellow instagrammer, Stunninbmwnails, I’ll post her post below! Thank you!! I was drawn to the contrasting colors. I decided to do a simpler version than Stunninbmwnails and just put some sparkle on the middle finger, I used Essie’s Sparkle On Top. I love the two colors, Essie’s Sunday Funday (pink) and Bikini So Teeny (blue), because they are soooo close to being one coat wonders, & they go on nicely. The colors are quickly opaque, which you know I love. The blue, Bikini So Teeny,…

Mani Monday: Essie’s Fall in Line (Fall 2014 Collection: Dress To Kilt) 3 of 6

By no mean is this an insult, but this color is the perfect color for shutters on a house! I enjoyed wearing this color, it is a nice color for the fall with an appropriate name. I apologize I was not able to take many pictures before I chipped a few nails, but, its not too too noticeable in pictures. Essie.com describes this color as “enigmatic jade. silky and sensuous, this serpentine green whispers, ‘whatever I say, goes.’” While researching this color, I notice that many swatches done by other…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s The Perfect Cover Up (Fall 2014 Collection: Dress to Kilt) 1 of 6

This is the first post of Essie’s Fall 2014 Collection! This collection consists of 6 great fall shades. I will introduce this collection to you by starting off with The Perfect Cover Up – a beautiful deep dark blue-ish. It is actually categorized under “greens” on essie’e website, and they describe it as “gray,” but, as you can see in the pictures above, its a blue-grey, and is more blue in certain brighter lights (you can tell in that one picture above). While I had this polish on, a few…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Urban Jungle (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 3 of 6

Yay! If you know me, you know I llloooooovvveeee my nude shades. As much as I love nudes, they can begin to all look the same after a while. If you need to break up nude monotony, Urban Jungle is a great shade!! Its not pink at all, it’s like this beige-y, really light tan color. Opaque & self leveling – requires two coats but you could get away with a shear-er look with one coat if your a steady handed polisher, but, in my personal preference I always…

MANI MONDAY: Essie’s Ruffles & Feathers (Summer 2014 Collection: Haute In The Heat) 2 of 6

Another shade in Essie’s 2014 Summer Collection. I was initially worried about this color, because green is out of my comfort zone when it comes to nail polish, but from what I could see and what I read online, Ruffles & Feathers is a more smooth teal green crème. What I experienced was an opaque, peacock emerald that was a self-leveling one coat wonder (#OCW)!!!! You know how I excited I get when I come across a OCW XD. It was super duper smooth and is very pigmented. I found…
